New Book-Digibots Classroom Adventures III
(Katy, TX -- September 7, 2007) -- Digibots Corporation of Katy, Texas, has announced publication of its third book, Digibots Classroom Adventures III, in a series of entertaining short stories developed to teach children, age 4-8, appropriate classroom behavior that helps set a foundation for learning and achievement.
Forty-four year-old Dyke Robinson, creator of the series and president of the Digibots Corporation, is a former counselor in Texas, with a Master's Degree in Guidance and Counseling.
“These issues became paramount to me, when based upon my research; it showed that inappropriate behaviors in the classroom were the major reason why learning did not occur in the classroom environment.” Robinson said during a recent interview. “Digibots are a proactive approach to raise the child’s awareness about inappropriate behaviors, before he or she gets into trouble in the classroom. It’s a prevention program. Thus, the classroom will function with fewer distractions and learning will occur for all of the children in the classroom environment.”
Robinson says he developed seven lovable robotic characters, the Digibots, to entertain children while teaching them about inappropriate behaviors that research shows inhibits learning in the classroom.
“The Digibots are funny and mischievous. Like young children, they get into trouble when they exhibit inappropriate behaviors, but they learn better,” Robinson explained. “The best thing about the books is that they create ‘teachable moments’ for parents and educators. Children enjoy discussing what the Digibots have done wrong, and what the characters need to do to correct inappropriate behavior.”
The stories provide insight on how to address inappropriate behavior in a positive manner as children meet the Digibots teacher and all of her students: Hong, Kelsey, Lisa, Jason, Lee and Shelby.
All the books in the Digibots series use rhyming text and entertaining scenarios to present and correct inappropriate behavior related to: Name-calling, cheating, tardiness, disturbing others' property, wandering around the classroom, turning attention away from the teacher, temper tantrums, fighting, inappropriate tasks during lessons, speaking without raising your hand to be recognized, and uncontrollable laughter.
Each book presents three different topics. Book four, the last in the series, is now in the final stages of production and is expected to be available before the end of this year.
